COL FB: West Virginia 28, Cincinnati 23

CINCINNATI, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Pat White had 295 yards total offense Saturday as fifth-ranked West Virginia edged 25th-ranked Cincinnati, 28-23.

Pat White ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns and completed 13-of-19 passes for 140 yards for West Virginia (9-1, 4-1 Big East), which has won five straight.

Running back Steve Slaton scored a touchdown and gained 103 yards on 23 carries. Steve Slaton was the Mountaineers' leading receiver with three catches for 48 yards.

Ben Mauk completed 19-of-34 passes for 323 yards and two touchdowns for the Bearcats (8-3, 3-3), who failed to win their third straight game against a top-25 ranked foe.

Mauk's favorite target, Marcus Barnett, caught 10 passes for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the loss.
